Our aim has been to design a high confort and environmental friendly innovative cottage. The cottage design is based on canadian masonry heaters, located in the center of the open space architecture.
Wall insulation has been done using a chalk-hemp coating; cellings are insulated using cellulose wadding.
Most of material that has been used come from local producers, in particular the traditional tiles, produced in Pontaumur, located at 20kms from Lavaud Blanche.
The house frame has been realised using Douglas Pine wood from local forests. Old Oak beams has been re-used in the construction of the interior structure and also for furnitures making.
No cement has been used, and chalk-hemp coatings has been prefered.
